- Claim to a dealer for a faulty used car (Ireland)For a consumer in Ireland who bought a used car from a dealer and found a fault. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 the car must conform to the contract, taking its age, mileage and price into account. The letter describes the fault and asks for the remedy you choose: ending the contract for a refund within 30 days of delivery, a repair or replacement, or, after a failed repair, a refund or a price reduction. It gives the dealer 14 days to reply, then the Small Claims procedure (claims up to €2,000). The CCPC explains these rights free. Not for a private sale. Send it by registered post (An Post).
- Road accident record and exchange of details (Ireland)For a driver in Ireland after a collision: one place to write down the other driver's name, address, vehicle and insurer, the time and place, what happened, the damage and the witnesses, while the details are fresh. Each driver keeps their own record and sends it to their insurer. It is not an admission of fault, and it does not replace a driver's duties under section 106 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 — to stop, give your details and, where required, report the accident to An Garda Síochána. Many insurers also give a free European Accident Statement form.
