- Application for care allowance – Pflegegeld (Austria)The application for care allowance (Pflegegeld), or for a higher level of it, to the PVA, SVS, BVAEB or AUVA under Austria's Federal Care Allowance Act (BPGG) — with insurance number, pension received, treating doctor, the help needed in your own words, a person you trust for the assessment, and IBAN. Care allowance is due from the first of the month after the application arrives (§ 9 BPGG): the day it arrives counts. The insurers provide their own form free of charge, but an application without it is valid too. In German, to print, sign and send promptly.
- Complaint to a bank about payments, an account, a card or a loan (Austria)Your written complaint to a bank in Austria — about a faulty transfer, a card payment, charges, a blocked account, a basic payment account (Basiskonto), a loan or an investment. It sets out what happened and the remedy you want, and sets the deadline for the answer: for payment services 15 business days, exceptionally 35 (§ 97 of the Austrian Payment Services Act, ZaDiG 2018). Complaining to the bank first is also the condition for a procedure before the joint conciliation body of the Austrian banking industry; a complaint to the Financial Market Authority (FMA) remains open alongside. In German.
- Final payment demand before a payment-order claim (Austria)The last reminder before going to court, under Austrian law: with the sum owed, the due date, a deadline, the account and default interest — 4% a year (§ 1000 of the Austrian Civil Code, ABGB) or, between businesses, 9.2 points over the base rate plus a €40 flat fee (§§ 456, 458 of the Austrian Commercial Code, UGB). It announces the Mahnklage: for money claims up to €75,000 the court issues a conditional payment order (Zahlungsbefehl, § 244 ZPO), which becomes enforceable unless the debtor objects within four weeks. In German, to print, sign and send by registered post.
- Complaint against a penalty decision to the Land administrative court (Austria)A complaint against an Austrian penalty decision (Straferkenntnis), for instance after a traffic offence, to the Land administrative court – in Vienna the Verwaltungsgericht Wien – lodged with the authority that issued the decision: with everything § 9 of the Austrian Administrative Court Procedure Act (VwGVG) requires (decision, authority, grounds, request, timeliness), evidence offered and a request for an oral hearing. Deadline: four weeks from service (§ 7 Abs 4 VwGVG). The penalty cannot be raised (§ 42 VwGVG); if the complaint fails, 20 % of the penalty is added in costs, at least € 10 (§ 52 VwGVG). In German.
- Used car purchase agreement between private individuals (Austria)The contract for a private sale of a used car in Austria: the vehicle with its chassis number, Typenschein or data extract and next roadworthiness test under § 57a KFG (the Pickerl), price and payment, the seller's statements on mileage, accidents and known defects, the exclusion of warranty with its limits under Austria's Civil Code (ABGB), and an express choice on roadworthiness. With the date and hour of handover, deregistration under the Austrian Motor Vehicles Act (§ 43 Abs 4 KFG) and who answers a driver enquiry until then. Not for a dealer sale. In German, ready to print twice and sign.
- Handover record for a flat on moving in, with inventory and key list (Austria)The record a landlord and tenant in Austria fill in and sign together when the tenant moves in: meter readings, keys handed over, the condition of each room, the equipment (bath, WC, heating, boiler) that sets the category and the reference rent under the Austrian Tenancy Act (MRG), known defects noted with rent reduction reserved under the Austrian Civil Code (§ 1096 ABGB), the inventory, the energy certificate and the deposit. It reminds both sides to register within three days. In German, for every Land.
- Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act (Austria)The written request for information under Austria's Freedom of Information Act (IFG), which since 1 September 2025 has replaced official secrecy and the old duty-to-inform acts: to an authority of the federation, a Land or a municipality, or to a company audited by the Court of Audit. With the exact information you want, the form you want it in, and a reminder of the four-week deadline (§ 8 IFG). The request is free. If an authority refuses the information, the next step is the request for a formal decision — a separate document; against a company, an application goes straight to the administrative court. In German.
- Declaration of leaving a church or religious society (Austria)The written declaration for leaving a church in Austria (Kirchenaustritt), to the district authority (Bezirkshauptmannschaft) or Magistrat where you live, in Vienna the Magistratisches Bezirksamt: naming the church or religious society you are leaving, with your details and, if you wish, a request for confirmation. Leaving takes effect with the declaration to the authority, which informs the church. The declaration is free, and can also be made in person or on the form the authority provides free. From 14 you decide for yourself. In German, ready to print and sign.
- Claim for reimbursement to a private health insurer (Austria)The letter for sending doctor's, therapy or hospital bills to your private health insurer in Austria for reimbursement — under a non-contracted-doctor or private-ward (Sonderklasse) tariff, for instance: with policy number, patient, treatment, invoices, the amount already refunded by the statutory insurer (ÖGK, SVS or BVAEB) and IBAN, with no diagnosis in the letter. If the insurer refuses, it asks for written reasons naming the policy clause relied on. Many insurers offer an app or customer portal for uploading invoices; your policy terms say which documents are needed. In German.
- Claim against a social insurer's decision (Austria)The claim at Austria's Labour and Social Court (Arbeits- und Sozialgericht) against a decision (Bescheid) of the ÖGK, SVS, BVAEB, PVA or AUVA — on care allowance, a reimbursement or insurance periods, for instance: with claimant and defendant, the decision, the facts, the evidence and the relief sought. It must be filed within four weeks of service, or three months in pension and care-allowance matters (§ 67(2) ASGG); a claim filed in time sets the decision aside as far as claimed. No lawyer is needed at first instance and insured persons bear no risk of costs (§ 77 ASGG). In German, to print, sign and file by post or through JustizOnline.
- Complaint to a trader with a deadline before conciliation (Austria)Your written attempt to settle with a trader in Austria before turning to a conciliation body: which contract, what went wrong, what you ask for and by when. The recognised conciliation bodies — the Verbraucherschlichtung Austria, the Internet Ombudsstelle and the sector bodies — may refuse a case that was not first raised with the trader, or that is filed more than a year afterwards (Austria's Alternative Dispute Resolution Act, AStG). This complaint is that first step, and your proof of it. In German.
- Price reduction or termination of the sale for a defect (Austria)The declaration to the seller when repair or replacement of defective goods has failed, in Austria: you claim an appropriate price reduction or termination of the sale (formerly Wandlung), giving the ground, the amount, a payment deadline and your account. Under § 12 of the Austrian Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) for consumer purchases from 2022 and § 932 of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB). Termination is excluded for a minor defect; a price reduction remains. After termination the seller pays for the return. The rights must reach a court within three months after the warranty period ends (§ 28 VGG). In German.
- Agreement to lend a car, with permission to drive it (Austria)The agreement by which you let another person drive your car — family, friends or acquaintances — including trips abroad: period, purpose, countries allowed, the licence check under § 103 Abs 1 Z 3 of the Austrian Motor Vehicles Act (KFG), insurance and any restricted driver group, costs, fines and damage, handover and return. Until the car comes back, you name the user in reply to a driver enquiry under § 103 Abs 2 KFG. At the end, a separate permission to drive with a short English summary, to carry in the car. In German, ready to print and sign by both.
- Request to refer a tax complaint to the Federal Fiscal Court (Austria)The request (Vorlageantrag) to have your complaint decided by Austria's Federal Fiscal Court (Bundesfinanzgericht) when the tax office's preliminary decision on it (Beschwerdevorentscheidung) does not settle the matter, under § 264 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code (BAO): within one month of service, lodged with the tax office. It names the preliminary decision, can add grounds, and is the last chance to ask for an oral hearing and a panel (§§ 272, 274 BAO); a fresh application to suspend collection is optional. Through FinanzOnline, by post or fax: an e-mail is no submission at all (§§ 85, 86a BAO). In German.
- Claim report to your own motor insurer (Austria)A letter reporting an accident or damage to your own motor insurer in Austria: under the liability cover where someone else may claim against you, or under partial or comprehensive Kasko cover for damage to your own vehicle. With the policy number, plate, date and place, who was driving, others involved, police, witnesses, what happened and the damage. Austrian policy conditions (AKHB) ask for prompt notice; your policy states the period. The letter records facts and admits no fault. In German, ready to print and sign.
- Preparation sheet for a lasting power of attorney (Austria)Not a model lasting power (Vorsorgevollmacht), but the preparation for the appointment: since Austria’s Second Adult Protection Act, a Vorsorgevollmacht can only be made in person before a notary, a lawyer or an adult-protection association and is registered in the central register (ÖZVV) (§§ 260–263 ABGB, the Austrian Civil Code). The sheet records what will be discussed: whom you want to appoint, for which matters, your wishes, whether several act together or alone, and whether they may delegate. It has no legal effect — page 1 says so. In German.
- Tenant's application to the conciliation board or district court under § 37 MRG (Austria)The tenant's application in Austria's non-contentious tenancy procedure: to have the main rent checked, the deposit repaid, the service-charge statement reviewed or repairs carried out (§ 37 Abs 1 of the Austrian Tenancy Act, MRG) — with the parties, the flat, the request, the grounds and the enclosures. Where the municipality has a conciliation board (Schlichtungsstelle), it is approached first (§ 39 MRG); elsewhere the district court for the flat. Vienna prescribes no form; if your municipality offers its own, you may use it free of charge instead. Signed by all tenants. In German.
- Subletting a flat: request for the landlord's consent, or notice to the landlord (Austria)The letter to the landlord when you sublet part of a rented flat in Austria: a request for consent where the lease requires it, or a notice where the lease does not forbid subletting. It names the rooms, the period, the subtenant, the sublet rent and the number of occupants, and relies on § 11 of the Austrian Tenancy Act (MRG) — where a ban binds only for an important reason — or on § 1098 of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB). It does not cover short lets to changing guests through platforms. In German.
- Request for exam adjustments at school for a disability (Austria)The request to an Austrian school's head to take a pupil's disability or health condition into account in class tests (Schularbeiten), tests and exams — with more time, a separate room or an oral instead of a written form, say — without lowering the curriculum's standard. It rests on § 18 Abs 6 of the School Education Act (SchUG), applies in every Land and describes the effects, not the diagnosis; a medical or specialist report is enclosed. The Matura and dyslexia have rules of their own. For parents and adult pupils. In German.
- Request for a certificate of school attendance (Austria)The written request to an Austrian school's office for a certificate of attendance (Schulbesuchsbestätigung) — for instance for the family allowance (Familienbeihilfe) of an adult child still in education, for which the Finanzamt Österreich asks for proof, or for an office abroad. It gives the pupil's name and date of birth, class and school year, who the certificate is for, the number of copies and the date it is needed by. For parents of pupils under 18 and for adult pupils themselves, for use in every Land. In German, ready to print, sign and hand in.
- Application for a different exam method at university (Austria)The application by a student with a disability for a different exam method at an Austrian university — an oral instead of a written exam, more time or a separate room, for instance. Under § 59 Abs 1 Z 12 of Austria's Universities Act (UG) there is a right to it where the disability makes the prescribed method impossible and the exam's content and standard stay the same. With student number, programme, exams, effects, the method asked for and evidence. Apply in good time; if your university has its own free form, as the University of Vienna does, use that. In German.
- Request for early admission to primary school (Austria)The parents' written request to the head of an Austrian primary school (Volksschule) to admit a child not yet of compulsory-school age to the first year early — for children who turn six by 1 March of the following calendar year (§ 7 of the Compulsory Schooling Act, SchPflG, the same in every Land). It is made within the enrolment period; the school checks readiness for school and social skills by meeting the child and through a school doctor's report. With a choice on a school psychologist's report. Enrolment itself is in person; if the school has its own form, use that. In German.
- Request to see the medical record and for a copy (Austria)The letter to a doctor's practice (Ordination) or hospital in Austria asking to see your medical record (ärztliche Dokumentation, Krankengeschichte) and for a complete copy — findings, doctors' letters, imaging, surgery and nursing reports. Since 30 July 2026 the first copy is free under the Austrian Physicians Act (§ 51 Abs 1 ÄrzteG 1998); for hospitals the letter relies on the Hospitals Act (§ 10 KAKuG), the Land's hospital act and Art 15 GDPR, under which the first copy is free too. Deadline: one month (Art 12(3) GDPR). You choose a copy, or inspection and a copy, and e-mail, post or collection. In German.
- Application to determine insurance periods (Austria)The application to the PVA, SVS or BVAEB to determine your insurance periods bindingly, by formal decision (Bescheid), under § 247 of Austria's General Social Insurance Act (ASVG), or § 117a GSVG for those insured with the SVS — the way to settle missing periods such as child-raising, military or civilian service or employment before claiming a pension, rather than relying on the non-binding account statement. With insurance number, date of birth, former surnames and the periods at issue; proof is enclosed. The decision can be challenged at the Labour and Social Court. In German.
