- Handover record for a flat on moving in, with inventory and key list (Austria)The record a landlord and tenant in Austria fill in and sign together when the tenant moves in: meter readings, keys handed over, the condition of each room, the equipment (bath, WC, heating, boiler) that sets the category and the reference rent under the Austrian Tenancy Act (MRG), known defects noted with rent reduction reserved under the Austrian Civil Code (§ 1096 ABGB), the inventory, the energy certificate and the deposit. It reminds both sides to register within three days. In German, for every Land.
- Preparation sheet for a lasting power of attorney (Austria)Not a model lasting power (Vorsorgevollmacht), but the preparation for the appointment: since Austria’s Second Adult Protection Act, a Vorsorgevollmacht can only be made in person before a notary, a lawyer or an adult-protection association and is registered in the central register (ÖZVV) (§§ 260–263 ABGB, the Austrian Civil Code). The sheet records what will be discussed: whom you want to appoint, for which matters, your wishes, whether several act together or alone, and whether they may delegate. It has no legal effect — page 1 says so. In German.
- Invoice with VAT under § 11 UStG 1994 (Austria)An invoice template with every particular § 11 of Austria's VAT Act (UStG 1994) requires for invoices above €400 gross: both parties' names and addresses, a sequential number, the date of issue, the date or period of supply, quantity and description, the net price, rate and VAT, your UID number (the Austrian VAT ID) and, above €10,000 gross, the customer's. With a line for the company-register details of § 14 UGB and bank details. Austria has no B2B e-invoice mandate, so paper and PDF stay usable. In German.
- Typed will signed before three witnesses (Austria)A will for Austria that need not be handwritten (§ 579 ABGB, the Austrian Civil Code): heirs and shares, substitute heirs, legacies, revocation of earlier wills and other directions. You sign it in the presence of three witnesses present at the same time and add in your own hand that the document contains your last will; each witness signs on the same document with a handwritten note of being a witness. With the witness bars of §§ 587, 588 ABGB. A will cannot be made electronically (§ 4 Abs 2 SVG): print it on one sheet and sign by hand. In German.
- Handover record for the sale of a car (Austria)The record that seller and buyer fill in together when a sold car changes hands in Austria: date and exact hour, mileage, fuel or charge level, visible damage, whether the car is roadworthy, papers handed over — Typenschein or data extract, Zulassungsschein, the latest roadworthiness report under § 57a KFG (the Pickerl) — and keys, and whether the car is handed over deregistered or still registered. The hour matters: until deregistration the seller remains the registered keeper and receives every driver enquiry. Goes with the sale contract. In German, ready to print and sign by both.
- Handover record for a flat on moving out (Austria)The record of handing a rented flat in Austria back at the end of the tenancy, filled in and signed together: the date of return, meter readings for the final bills, keys returned, the condition of each room, the damage the landlord points out beside the tenant's view of it, any agreements, the deposit and the account for its return. The date starts the clocks under the Austrian Civil Code: one year for the landlord's damage claims (§ 1111 ABGB), six months for the tenant's outlays (§ 1097 ABGB). In German.
- Acknowledgement of debt (Austria)An acknowledgement of debt under Austrian law: the debtor confirms owing the creditor a stated sum, with its cause, payment in one sum or by instalments, the account and acceleration on default. You choose whether it is constitutive (it removes a doubt, and the sum is owed whatever the cause) or declaratory (it shifts the burden of proof). Both interrupt limitation (§ 1497 of the Austrian Civil Code, ABGB). The ABGB prescribes no special form; both sign for proof. Between spouses or registered partners it is valid only as a notarial deed (§ 1 Abs 1 lit b NotAktsG). In German.
- Shareholders' resolution appointing or removing a GmbH managing director (Austria)The shareholders' resolution of an Austrian GmbH or FlexCo appointing, removing or replacing a managing director (Geschäftsführer), passed at a general meeting or as a written circular resolution that every shareholder signs (§ 34 of the Austrian Limited Liability Companies Act, GmbHG), with the new director's acceptance. For the Austrian company register (Firmenbuch) the signatures are certified by a district court or a notary (§ 17 GmbHG): sign there, not at home; there is room for the certification note. In German.
- Minutes of the general meeting or circular resolution: annual accounts of a GmbH (Austria)Minutes of the general meeting of an Austrian GmbH or FlexCo — or the circular resolution every shareholder signs — adopting the annual accounts, deciding on the balance-sheet profit and discharging the managing directors, with a vote result for each item. The resolutions are due within the first eight months of the financial year (§ 35 Abs 1 Z 1 of the Austrian Limited Liability Companies Act, GmbHG); a vote in text form exists only in a FlexCo whose articles provide for it. With a note on filing with the company register (Firmenbuch) within nine months. In German.
- Spouses' inventory of property brought into the marriage (Austria)A record in which spouses in Austria set down what each brought into the marriage, inherited or was given by a third party — exactly what is not divided on divorce (§ 82 Abs 1 EheG, the Austrian Marriage Act). With an optional advance agreement on the other marital property in use, which needs only written form (§ 97 Abs 1 EheG). The marital home, savings and marriage contracts need a notarial deed and are not included. Because of § 4 Abs 2 Z 1 SVG the document is printed and signed by both spouses by hand. In German.
- Small-amount invoice up to €400 (Austria)A template for invoices up to €400 including VAT, with the simplified particulars of § 11 Abs 6 of Austria's VAT Act (UStG 1994): the supplier's name and address, the date of issue, quantity and description of the goods or type and extent of the service, the date or period of supply, the total including tax and the tax rate. The customer, a sequential number and the UID number are not required. For small jobs and receipts a customer needs for the books, on paper or as a PDF. In German.
- Receipt for a payment (Austria)A receipt under § 1426 of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB): the person receiving the money confirms in writing who paid how much, when, how — in cash or by transfer — and for what, and whether the debt is now paid off or this is only a part-payment, with the balance left. Anyone who pays in Austria may always ask for a receipt. It goes with the private loan, the acknowledgement of debt, the settlement and the instalment agreement. In German, to fill in, print and have signed by the payee.
- Small-business invoice without VAT (Austria)An invoice template for Austrian small businesses (Kleinunternehmer) that charge no VAT: with the note on the exemption under § 6 Abs 1 Z 27 of Austria's VAT Act (UStG 1994), both parties' names and addresses, invoice number, date, the goods or services and the total. Since 1 January 2025 the exemption applies up to €55,000 gross annual turnover, with a 10 % tolerance in the current year, and small businesses may use the simplified invoice above €400 too. VAT shown by mistake is owed because of the invoice until the invoice is corrected (§ 11 Abs 12 UStG). In German.
- Organisation's request and confirmation for the child-protection or care criminal record certificate (Austria)The written request and confirmation, addressed to the person, that clubs, schools, nurseries, parishes, care providers and other employers issue for the special criminal record certificates Kinder- und Jugendfürsorge (work with children) or Pflege und Betreuung (care work) under Austria's Criminal Records Act (§ 10(1b) and (1d) StRegG): that the person needs it for a specific paid or volunteer activity mainly involving minors or the care of defenceless persons, and whether the work is voluntary (fee exemption). The Interior Ministry provides a model confirmation free of charge; this is a version of our own, as the organisation's letter. In German.
