- Cohabitation agreement for unmarried partners (Poland)An agreement for couples living together in Poland without marrying: how they share housing and living costs, what each keeps as personal property, how things bought together are co-owned, how they settle up if they separate, and who leaves the home. Poland has no registered partnerships — the closest-person status law did not take effect after the Sejm failed to override the presidential veto in September 2026 — so these matters are settled by a civil-law contract.
- Car sale agreement (umowa kupna-sprzedaży samochodu)A Polish agreement for the private sale of a used car: the parties, make and model, VIN, registration number, mileage, known defects, the price in figures and words, and handover with the documents and keys. It also sets out what each side must do afterwards: the seller tells the district office within 30 days and the insurer within 14, the buyer registers the car within 30 days and pays 2% tax on civil-law transactions within 14. No notary is needed.
- Mutual non-disclosure agreement (umowa o zachowaniu poufności)A mutual NDA for two businesses in talks about cooperation, an investment or a deal: the purpose, a definition of confidential information linked to trade secrets under Polish law, the exceptions, rules on access and protection, return of materials, how long it lasts after the talks, and a contractual penalty with the right to claim damages above it. It creates no obligation to sign anything further.
- Occasional tenancy agreement (najem okazjonalny)A Polish occasional tenancy for an owner who is a private individual not in the business of letting flats: fixed term of at most 10 years, deposit of up to six months' rent. The agreement lists the three compulsory attachments, including the tenant's declaration submitting to enforcement and undertaking to vacate the flat — which must be a notarial deed; without it there is no occasional tenancy. The landlord reports the agreement to the tax office within 14 days.
- Loan agreement (umowa pożyczki)A Polish agreement for a cash loan between private individuals, family included: the parties with their PESEL numbers, the amount in words, how and when it is paid out, the interest, the repayment date or schedule, late-payment interest and the account for repayment. It explains the tax on civil-law transactions: 0.5% and a return within 14 days, with close family exempt up to 36,120 zł without formalities, and above that only after filing and a bank transfer.
- Room rental agreementA Polish agreement for renting a single room in a flat whose other rooms are shared: which room, which common areas the tenant may use, the rent and what it covers, the deposit, the rules of living together and the notice period. With a room, disputes are usually about utilities and shared space, so the agreement has them written in rather than left for later.
- Mutual agreement ending an employment contract (porozumienie stron)Ending a Polish employment contract by agreement of both sides, on a date they choose, with no notice period and no reasons given. The agreement records who proposed it — which matters for the certificate of employment, for severance where the reasons do not concern the employee, and for the labour office — and settles leave and anything else the parties have agreed.
- Contract for a specific work (umowa o dzieło)A Polish contract for a specific, verifiable result — a design, a text, software, an object: the work and its requirements, the deadline, a lump-sum fee in words, acceptance by protocol, remedying defects and warranty, the right to withdraw for delay, and transfer of copyright on the named fields of exploitation. It reminds a business client to report the contract to ZUS on the RUD form.
- Mandate contract (umowa zlecenia)A Polish mandate contract with an individual: the tasks, period and place, the contractor's independence, an hourly rate no lower than the statutory minimum — 31.40 zł gross in 2026 — confirmation of hours, monthly payment, a statement of social-insurance status, and termination. A mandate contract generally carries social-security contributions, which is what sets it apart from a contract for a specific work.
- Permanent employment contract (umowa o pracę na czas nieokreślony)A Polish employment contract with no end date, carrying what art. 29 § 1 of the Labour Code requires: the parties with the employer's registered address, job title and duties, place of work, working time, pay and its components, pay date and start date. Notice periods are written out, and the employer gives the remaining terms separately within 7 days of the employee starting work.
- Open-ended flat rental agreementA Polish residential tenancy with no fixed end date: rent, deposit, utilities, each side's obligations, handover records when the flat is handed over and returned, and the tenant's notice period. The landlord cannot end it at will — only on the grounds in art. 11 of the tenants' protection act, in writing and with the reason given — and the agreement says so plainly rather than promising a freedom the law does not give.
- Service agreement between businesses (umowa o świadczenie usług)An agreement between Polish businesses for ongoing or periodic services — IT, marketing, accounting, consulting: the scope and what falls outside it, the term, the net fee plus VAT, payment within no more than 60 days, invoices in the national e-invoicing system (KSeF), professional diligence, confidentiality, a liability cap and termination. The rules on mandate contracts apply to it (art. 750 of the Civil Code).
- Fixed-term employment contract (umowa o pracę na czas określony)A Polish employment contract with an end date, carrying the elements art. 29 § 1 of the Labour Code requires and the limit in art. 25¹: no more than 33 months and three such contracts in total between the same parties — beyond that the contract becomes a permanent one. Since 2023 the employer's notice must state its reason, and the notice periods are the same as for a permanent contract.
- Out-of-court settlement agreement (ugoda pozasądowa)A Polish settlement that ends a dispute without going to court — over a payment, damage, a tenancy account or a service: the parties with PESEL numbers, the dispute, what each side concedes, the amount, deadline and account for payment, and a statement that performing the settlement exhausts the claims concerned (art. 917 of the Civil Code). It explains that such a settlement is not enforceable on its own, and how to make it so if the other side fails to perform.
- Fixed-term flat rental agreementA Polish residential tenancy between private individuals for a set period: rent, deposit, utilities, each side's obligations and a handover record when the flat is handed over and returned. Under Polish law a fixed-term tenancy cannot be ended early except in the cases the agreement names, so this one names them. It is an ordinary tenancy; an occasional tenancy (najem okazjonalny), with the tenant's declaration before a notary, is a separate document.
- Post-employment non-compete agreement (zakaz konkurencji)An agreement under which an employee with access to particularly important information undertakes not to compete with the employer for a set time after leaving. The employer pays compensation of at least 25% of the pay received before the employment ended, for a period equal to the ban. It must be in writing on pain of nullity, and stops binding when the employer stops paying.
