What does a duplicate of a lost Romanian diploma require?
The loss is published in Part III of the Monitorul Oficial, and the applicant makes a notarial declaration about how it was lost. The request, with these, a certified copy of the birth or marriage certificate and two 3 x 4 cm photographs, goes to the school that issued the document, which prepares the duplicate. A transcript or a certificate of studies, however, is issued without those formalities.
Who issues the document if the school has closed?
The institution that took over the closed school's archive; the county school inspectorate can say where the archive is. The request goes there, with the same documents.
What is a school transcript for?
It shows the marks and results for each year of study — asked for when transferring, for recognition of studies abroad or in a job application, for example. Unlike a duplicate certificate, it is issued on a simple request.
