Notification of a claim event to the insurer

The PDF you download is in Bulgarian — that is the language it has to be filed in, so it is not translated. Everything on this page is here to tell you what it says.

Written, dated notification of a loss. Insurers work with claim forms of their own, but filing those often drags — with this notice the date of notification is on record from the day you gave it. It describes the event and the property damaged, lists the documents drawn up, and says when an inspection can be carried out.

Common questions

Why file this when the insurer has its own form?
Because the date of notification matters, and the form often gets filled in days later — at an inspection, in an office, after queuing. This notice goes in at once and with a reference number, so the day you reported it is on record regardless of when the claim was formally opened.
What goes under "documents drawn up"?
Anything official that already exists on the matter: a road accident report, a police note, a fire service report, a municipal inspection record. If there is nothing yet, write that too — its absence is also a fact as at that date.
What if I do not yet know how much the loss is?
Describe what has been established so far and do not invent valuations. The notice documents the event, not the amount; the figure is settled at the inspection and is the claim's business, not this letter's.
Can I repair things before an inspection?
As a rule no — repairing before the inspection makes the loss harder to prove and is a common reason for a reduced settlement. That is why the notice has a separate field for when an inspection can take place.
