Application for a student certificate or academic transcript
Published byDocMuse
This document is in Bulgarian
The PDF you download is in Bulgarian — that is the language it has to be filed in, so it is not translated. Everything on this page is here to tell you what it says.
A student certificate proves that you are enrolled — needed for a grant, for reduced public transport fares, for a bank, for a visa, for deferral from military registration. A transcript lists the subjects studied and the marks, and is asked for on a transfer or when having qualifications recognised abroad. The two are not the same thing; say which you need and what for.

Common questions
- What is the difference between a student certificate and a transcript?
- A certificate proves that you are a student — for a grant, for transport, for a bank, for a visa. A transcript lists the subjects studied and the marks, and is asked for on a transfer or for recognition abroad. Different documents for different purposes.
- Can I ask for the document in English?
- Usually yes, which is why there is a field for the language. Ask for it in the language you need straight away — translating and legalising it afterwards costs more than the issuing itself.
- How many copies should I ask for?
- As many as there are institutions that will want one, plus one for yourself. Applying again goes through the same procedure and takes the same time, and the fee is often per copy.
- Can I get a transcript if I have interrupted my studies?
- Yes. A transcript reflects what has been passed to date, whether or not the studies are continuing. State your status in the application so that it is issued correctly.
