Fixed-term employment contract (Italy)
For an employer in Italy hiring on a fixed-term contract, full-time or part-time. The form covers three cases: a contract of up to twelve months with no stated ground, replacing other workers, and technical, organisational or production needs identified by the parties, allowed for contracts signed by 31 December 2026; grounds set by a collective agreement are not included. It states term, duties, the statutory trial-period formula, pay and the right of precedence. The term counts only if written; the copy is due within five working days. In Italian.
Saldo e stralcio settlement offer to a creditor (Italy)
For anyone in Italy with a debt to a private person, a business, a finance company or a debt-collection agency who wants to propose closing it by paying a smaller sum, at once or in instalments. The letter, in Italian under Italian law, states the debt claimed, the amount offered, how it will be paid and how long the offer stands, and says payment will follow only written acceptance. It is not for tax bills from the Agenzia delle Entrate-Riscossione. Send it by registered post or by PEC.
General self-declaration in lieu of certificates (Italy)
An Italian free-form self-declaration, in Italian (art. 46 of Presidential Decree 445/2000), stating personal status, qualities and facts in place of a certificate: an educational qualification, membership of a professional register, being alive, income and the other cases the law lists. With the warning on penalties (art. 76) and the note on signing (art. 38). Public bodies and private parties must accept it; many bodies publish free models. No stamp duty is due (art. 37). Sign it in front of the official or hand it in with a copy of an identity document.
Request to the landlord for a breakdown of service charges (Italy)
For a tenant in Italy asked by the landlord to pay building and service charges who wants to know what they cover: the letter asking, under art. 9 of Italian Law no. 392 of 27 July 1978, for the specific list of expenses with the allocation criteria and access to the supporting documents, undertaking to pay what proves to be due. Payment is due within two months of the request. By registered post with proof of receipt, PEC if the landlord has one, or by hand. In Italian.
Rent payment receipt (Italy)
For a landlord in Italy who receives rent, and for a tenant asking for proof of payment: the receipt (quietanza) of art. 1199 of the Italian Civil Code, with landlord and tenant and their tax codes, the amount in figures and words, the month or period paid, the property, the date and the method of payment. It has the space for the €2 revenue stamp due on receipts over €77.47, bought at a tobacconist's. The landlord issues it at the tenant's request. In Italian.
Holiday request to the employer (Italy)
For an employee in Italy asking in writing for a period of paid holiday, with the dates and the number of days, and for confirmation that it is granted. The letter recalls the statutory rules: the employer sets the period, taking account of the employee's interests (art. 2109 of the Italian Civil Code), and at least four weeks a year are due, two of them in the year they accrue, consecutive on request (art. 10 of Legislative Decree 66/2003). Hand it in, e-mail it or send it by PEC; if the company uses a leave portal, use that. In Italian.
Accident report and damage claim to a motor insurer (Italy)
For anyone whose vehicle was damaged in a road accident in Italy: a letter in Italian reporting the accident and claiming compensation, either from your own insurer (direct compensation, art. 149 of the Italian Private Insurance Code) or from the insurer of the driver at fault (art. 148), with the details the law requires: tax code, circumstances, and the place, days and hours for the damage assessment. Damage to property only, not injuries. Your own insurer must be told within three days (art. 1913 of the Civil Code); send it by registered post or PEC, with the CAI joint report if completed.
Parent’s declaration for returning to school after illness (Italy)
An Italian declaration, in Italian, by a parent or guardian for the school that the pupil was absent for health reasons between the dates given and that the parent followed the paediatrician’s or family doctor’s advice. It is for regions or schools that ask for it instead of a medical certificate, which most Italian regions have abolished. Many schools have their own form or a function in the electronic register, free of charge. It holds health data, so it is sold blank and filled in by hand.
Request for repair or replacement under the legal guarantee (Italy)
For a consumer in Italy whose purchase, made in a shop or online, breaks or does not work as it should within two years of delivery: you ask the seller – not the manufacturer – to repair or replace it free of charge (Articles 128 ff. of the Italian Consumer Code). If the defect appears within a year of delivery, it is presumed to have existed then. The Italian business ministry (MIMIT) explains the legal guarantee free on its website; no particular form is required, but a written request proves the date and content. Send this Italian letter by registered post with proof of receipt or by PEC to the seller’s certified address.
Subject access request under art. 15 GDPR (Italy)
An Italian letter, in Italian, to a company, bank, employer, app or public body asking whether it processes your personal data and for a copy, with purposes, recipients, retention periods and source (art. 15 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679). The controller must answer within one month, and the first copy is free. The Italian data protection authority (Garante) publishes a free model on its website. Send it by PEC, by e-mail to the privacy address in the privacy notice, or by registered post with proof of receipt.
