A separate slip confirms receipt of the price. It can be attached in ASP's online service or presented at the counter; the seller informs the motor insurer (Law no. 106/2022).

Common questions
- Can a car be sold online in Moldova?
- Yes, through the Public Services Agency's electronic service (from EVO or asp.gov.md), if the vehicle is registered and both parties have a qualified electronic signature. The seller files the request, the buyer accepts it and pays the fee, and ASP decides on the same working day if the request is registered by 16:00. The contract can be the one the system generates or the parties' own, attached as a PDF — this one, for example. By this route, ownership passes to the buyer only once ASP's registrar records it in the State Register of Vehicles.
- Does a Moldovan car sale contract need a notary?
- Not necessarily: the Civil Code requires a notarial act to transfer immovable property, not a vehicle (art. 323). At the counter, the Public Services Agency accepts for the transfer a notarised contract or a contract made in writing as the law requires. The parties may choose a notary, who also checks who they are. This contract is in writing and is signed by both parties in three copies: one each and one for ASP.
- What happens to the seller's motor liability policy when a car is sold in Moldova?
- The seller must tell the motor (RCA) insurer about the sale and may either assign the policy to the buyer — the insurer then adjusts the premium to the new owner's risk — or end it (art. 8 of Law no. 106/2022). If it is ended and no compensation has been or is owed, the insurer refunds the premium for the remaining days and may keep up to 25% of that sum (art. 10).
