This document is in German
The PDF you download is in German — that is the language it has to be filed in, so it is not translated. Everything on this page is here to tell you what it says.
The written notice of faults you hand to the tour organiser's rep or contact point while still on holiday: it lists the lack of conformity with dates, asks for a remedy by a deadline, and reserves price reduction, damages and compensation for lost holiday enjoyment. Under § 11 Abs 2 of the Austrian Package Travel Act (PRG) you must inform the organiser without undue delay; failing to do so can count against you as contributory fault. At the foot the rep confirms receipt with date and time. In German.

Common questions
- Why must package holiday faults be reported on the spot in Austria?
- Because the organiser must get the chance to put things right: you must inform it of every lack of conformity without undue delay (§ 11 Abs 2 PRG). Failing to do so does not automatically cost you your claims, but it can count against you as contributory fault and reduce your damages (§ 12 Abs 2 PRG, § 1304 ABGB). Keep photos, videos and the names of witnesses.
- Who receives the notice under Austria's PRG — the hotel or the tour rep?
- The tour organiser: on the spot its rep or the contact point named in the travel documents, or if need be the organiser itself by e-mail. If you booked through a travel agency, you can also send it there; the agency must pass it on without delay (§ 13 PRG). A complaint made only at the hotel reception may never reach the organiser. Have the receipt confirmed with date and time at the foot of the sheet, or keep the e-mail you sent.
- What can be done in Austria if the organiser does not remedy the faults?
- The organiser must remedy the lack of conformity unless that is impossible or would cost disproportionately much (§ 11 PRG). If it does not do so within the reasonable deadline you set, you may arrange the remedy yourself and claim the necessary expenses; no deadline is needed if it refuses or an immediate remedy is required. After the trip you claim the price reduction, damages and, for substantial faults, compensation for lost holiday enjoyment with a complaint (§ 12 PRG).

Outside a binding period you can also give two weeks' notice (§ 24 ElWG). Gas is governed by the GWG 2011. With customer number, metering point and a request to confirm the end date. In German.
