Administrative tax objection to the Dispute Resolution Directorate (Greece)
The objection (ενδικοφανής προσφυγή) against an act of Greece's tax authority, ΑΑΔΕ — a corrective tax assessment, a fine — which must be made before any court action, written as a complete document ready to upload to myAADE: the act, the amount contested, the grounds, the evidence and the request. Under art. 72 of Greek Law 5104/2024 it is filed within 30 days of notification (60 for residents abroad, August not counted), and the Dispute Resolution Directorate decides within 120 days. It includes the choice on suspending 50% and the request to suspend the rest.
Report to Greece's consumer protection authority for mediation
The written report asking Greece's Independent Authority for Market Control and Consumer Protection to mediate in a consumer's dispute with a business. The Authority was set up by Law 5255/2025 and absorbed the Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή). The report gives the consumer's and the business's details, what happened, what was already done to settle it and what is asked for, states that no court case is pending, and is signed and sent with a copy of an ID, as the Ombudsman required.
Complaint to an electricity or gas supplier (Greece)
The written complaint to an electricity or gas supplier in Greece, with what it needs to be dealt with: the supply and customer numbers, the meter and its actual reading, the disputed bill, what is wrong and what is asked for. The same complaint must also be lodged on MyRAE, the platform of the regulator ΡΑΑΕΥ (RAAEY): without that, the Greek Energy Mediator will not hear the dispute. The Mediator covers electricity and gas only, not water.
Complaint to the patients' rights office of a Greek hospital
The complaint a patient files when they consider their rights were breached in a hospital of Greece's national health system (ESY): what happened, when and in which department, which right was affected and what is asked for. It goes to the hospital's Office for the Protection of the Rights of Health Service Users, which every ESY hospital must have (art. 60 of Law 4368/2016), not to the management. It can be filed in person, by registered letter, fax or e-mail, and its registration number is the first document of any later step.
Objection to a traffic-fine notice (Greece)
Three days from service: that is all the time the new Greek Road Traffic Code allows for objecting to a traffic ticket (art. 107 of Law 5209/2025), and this document is written to be filed the same day. It goes to the authority of the officer who recorded the offence, electronically or, where that is not possible, by any other suitable means, with the ticket's details, the grounds, the evidence and, if someone else was driving, who. Camera fines are objected to through Gov.gr Wallet within the same three days. The old half-fine for paying within ten days no longer exists.
Notice of faulty goods demanding repair or replacement (Greece)
The notice by which a buyer in Greece tells the seller that goods are faulty or do not conform to the contract and asks for repair or replacement, under arts. 543 and 544 of the Greek Civil Code as rewritten by Law 4967/2022. It sets out the goods, the purchase and the problem, and reminds the seller that the remedy is free, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience — Greek law sets no number of days — that a fault appearing within a year is presumed to have existed at delivery, and that the buyer's rights for movables lapse after two years.
Refund request for an unauthorised card or account payment (Greece)
The notice to a bank or other payment provider in Greece when an account or card was charged for transactions the holder did not authorise. It lists the transactions, when they were noticed and when the card was blocked, and asks for the whole sum back by the end of the next business day (Law 4537/2018, art. 73). Notice must be given without undue delay and within 13 months of the debit at the latest. The payer bears at most 50 euros unless there was fraud or gross negligence, which the bank must prove, and even then a consumer bears at most 1,000 euros — and the letter concedes no negligence.
Complaint about a package holiday (Greece)
The complaint to the organiser of a package holiday bought in Greece when the services were not those agreed — accommodation, flights, transfers, meals, excursions. It sets out the booking, the travellers, what was wrong and when and to whom it was reported on the spot, and claims a price reduction, compensation and the costs the traveller paid to put right a fault the organiser did not fix within the reasonable time it was given (Presidential Decree 7/2018). The organiser answers for every service in the package, even those provided by others.
Out-of-court notice of defects in a rented home, with a rent reduction (Greece)
The out-of-court notice (εξώδικη δήλωση) by which a tenant in Greece tells the landlord about defects in the home — damp, a heating or plumbing failure — and calls for them to be fixed by a set date. Under Articles 576–577 of the Greek Civil Code, a defect that wholly or partly prevents the agreed use entitles the tenant to a reduction of the rent or release from it, and the notice states the reduction. It is served by a court bailiff, so the report of service proves from when the landlord knew.
Complaint to a bank (Greece)
A written complaint to a bank in Greece about an account, a card, a transfer, a direct debit or a loan: the product, what happened with dates and sums, what is asked for and where to send the answer. For payment services the bank answers within 15 business days, and in exceptional cases within 35 at the latest (Law 4537/2018). If it is not resolved, the next step is the Hellenic Financial Ombudsman, which examines the dispute free of charge if approached within one year of the complaint — which is why the complaint asks for a reference number.
Flight delay or cancellation compensation claim (Greece)
The claim to an airline for compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 — 250, 400 or 600 euros per passenger, by distance — when a flight arrived three hours late or more, was cancelled without timely notice, or the passenger was denied boarding. It gives the flight and booking details, the other passengers, the expenses incurred and the IBAN, and asks for payment in money, not vouchers. It goes to the airline first; for flights from Greek airports, the next step is the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (ΑΠΑ), the Regulation's enforcement body.
