Revocation of a SEPA direct debit, formerly RID (Italy)
Why it matches: A gym or a finance company keeps taking money from your account and you want to cancel the direct debit.
Italy · in Italian · for consumers
Many banks let you revoke a direct debit free of charge in online banking or at the branch. This document, in Italian under Italian law, is for doing it in writing, with proof: it holds two letters to send on the same day, one to the creditor revoking the SEPA mandate and one to your bank asking it to stop executing that creditor's debits (legislative decree no. 11/2010). Revocation does not cancel sums owed: the letter asks how to pay them another way.
Complaint about a parcel not delivered or delivered late (France)
Why it matches: You want to give the seller a final deadline to deliver, or cancel the order and ask for a refund.
France · in French · for consumers
For a consumer in France whose order never arrived, arrived late or shows as 'delivered' without being received. The letter goes to the seller, not the carrier: the seller answers for the goods until you receive them. You choose either to give the seller formal notice to deliver within an extra period or, once that period has passed, to notify the end of the contract; the seller must then refund everything paid within 14 days (Articles L. 216-6 and L. 216-7 of the French Consumer Code). In French, to send by registered post with proof of receipt.
Withdrawal letter for a distance or off-premises purchase (France)
Why it matches: A doorstep seller talked you into a purchase at home and you want to cancel it.
France · in French · for consumers
For a consumer in France who bought online, by phone, from a catalogue or from a doorstep seller and has changed their mind: you withdraw within 14 days without giving reasons under Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code, and ask for everything you paid back within 14 days. The model withdrawal form, which the seller must give you free, works too, and since 19 June 2026 online shops must offer a withdrawal function. A letter in French, to send by registered post with proof of receipt or by e-mail so that you keep proof.

Why it matches: You want to cancel your household contents insurance in Austria at the end of the term.
Austria · in German · for consumers
A letter ending your household contents, personal liability or legal-expenses insurance in Austria: at the end of the insurance period or term; under § 8 Abs 3 of Austria's Insurance Contract Act (VersVG), for a contract of more than three years, on one month's notice for the end of the third and each later year; or after a claim. A letter ending a gym contract or a running subscription in Austria — a magazine, a membership, streaming or a delivery plan. You give ordinary notice for the earliest date; for a magazine or delivery plan, notice under § 15 of Austria's Consumer Protection Act (KSchG), two months before the end of the first year and then of each half-year; notice for good cause such as illness or pregnancy; or notice for the original end date where you were not reminded before an automatic renewal (§ 6 Abs 1 Z 2 KSchG). After the minimum term, at most one month's notice applies. With customer, contract and phone numbers, revocation of the direct debit and a request for written confirmation of the end date. Why it matches: You have deregistered the car you sold and want the prepaid premium refunded.
Austria · in German · for sellers
The letter telling your motor liability insurer in Austria that you have sold your car, as § 71 of the Austrian Insurance Contract Act (VersVG) requires: with the policy number, plate, chassis number, date and hour of handover, the buyer's name and address and the day of deregistration. It asks for the premium to be settled and prepaid premium refunded to your account, or for the policy to move to a replacement car, and for a confirmation of your claims record. Austria has no notice of sale to an authority. In German, ready to print, sign and send by registered post.
Revocation of a power of attorney with notice to third parties (Germany)
Why it matches: You want to cancel a power of attorney you gave and tell the bank or office in writing that it has ended.
Germany · in German
Revoking a power of attorney in Germany: a letter to the agent asking for the power of attorney document back (§ 175 of the German Civil Code, BGB), which doubles as the notice to the bank, office or other body the power was shown or announced to — each receives a signed copy, because towards them the power stays in force until they are told it has ended (§§ 170–173 BGB). With the court route for declaring an unreturned document void (§ 176 BGB). In German; fill in, print, sign and deliver to each recipient with proof of receipt.
Ending a gym membership (Cyprus)
Why it matches: You want to cancel your gym membership in Cyprus and stop the card or direct debit payments.
Cyprus · in Greek · for consumers
A gym member's written notice in Cyprus ending the membership: under the contract's termination clause, at the end of the term without renewal, for health reasons or a move, because the gym no longer provides what was agreed, or by withdrawing within 14 days when the membership was bought online. It asks for card or direct debit charges to stop and for anything prepaid to be refunded, and refuses any penalty the contract does not clearly provide for.
Notice of price reduction or withdrawal for non-conforming goods (Poland)
Why it matches: You want to tell the seller in writing that you want a lower price or to cancel the purchase.
Poland · in Polish · for consumers
A consumer's notice for when the seller refused to repair or replace goods that do not conform to the contract, did not do it in reasonable time, the repair did not work, or the defect is too serious to wait (art. 43e of the Consumer Rights Act): the choice between reducing the price and withdrawing from the contract, the amount and the account for the refund. It reminds the seller to repay within 14 days and to take the goods back at its own cost.
Notice of withdrawal from a distance or off-premises purchase (Spain)
Why it matches: You want to cancel an online or phone order in writing so that you have proof of it.
Spain · in Spanish · for consumers
For a consumer in Spain who bought online, by phone or away from the shop (at home or on an excursion) and has changed their mind: the letter withdraws from the contract within 14 calendar days, without giving reasons (arts. 102 to 108 of the Spanish Consumer Protection Act, TRLGDCU), and asks for everything paid back within 14 days. The model withdrawal form in annex B of the TRLGDCU, which the seller must give you free, is enough on its own. This Spanish letter proves what was sent and when: send it by burofax with certified content, or attach it to an e-mail. In Spanish.
Revocation of a mandate or authorisation (Spain)
Why it matches: You want to cancel an authorisation in a way that proves when it was received.
Spain · in Spanish

It goes by burofax with certified content and acknowledgement of receipt, which proves when it arrived. If the power was granted before a notary, revoke it before a notary too and use this letter to give notice. A separate notice informs banks and companies. In Spanish.
Notice ending a phone, internet or pay-TV contract (Italy)
Why it matches: You want to cancel a pay-TV subscription with a letter that proves the date.
Italy · in Italian · for consumers
For anyone in Italy who wants to end a landline, mobile, internet or pay-TV contract, even before it expires: the law lets you withdraw at any time, on no more than thirty days’ notice and without costs other than those justified by the operator’s own costs (Article 1(3) of Italian decree-law 7/2007, the «decreto Bersani»). Operators also offer free cancellation channels in the customer area or in their shops; to move to another operator and keep your number, just go to the new one. This Italian letter proves the date: send it by PEC to the operator’s certified address or by registered post with proof of receipt.
Revoking a SEPA direct-debit mandate and blocking debits (France)
Why it matches: You ended a subscription in France but the company keeps taking direct debits from your account.
France · in French · for consumers
For stopping a creditor's direct debits from your account in France: a subscription, a supplier, a lender. The document, in French under French law, holds two letters to send the same day: the revocation of the SEPA mandate, to the creditor, and the opposition, to your bank, which then refuses every debit from that creditor (article L. 133-7 of the French Monetary and Financial Code). A debit presented afterwards is no longer authorised and is refunded. Revoking the mandate does not end the contract.
Withdrawal from a distance or off-premises contract (Austria)
Why it matches: You bought something online from a shop in Austria and want to cancel the purchase.
Austria · in German · for consumers
The withdrawal notice for an online purchase, an order by phone or catalogue, or a contract made away from the trader's premises in Austria: you withdraw within 14 days without giving reasons under § 11 of the Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (FAGG) and ask for your money back. The model withdrawal form in the FAGG's annex is free and works just as well; no form is prescribed, and sending in time is enough. For contracts made online from 1 October 2026 the shop must also offer a withdrawal function (§ 13a FAGG). In German, ready to sign and send.
Notice closing a current account (Germany)
Why it matches: You are leaving Germany and want to close your bank account, cards and online banking before you go.
Germany · in German · for consumers
A letter to a German bank or savings bank (Sparkasse) closing your current account (Girokonto), whether you are leaving altogether or switching to a new bank. It gives the IBAN, the account holder and date of birth, the closing date you want and the account for the remaining balance, ends the linked cards, overdraft and online banking, and asks for written confirmation. Under § 675h of the German Civil Code (BGB) you may close the account at any time without notice, unless a notice period of at most one month was agreed, and closing is free. A choice covers switching through the statutory switching service (§§ 20 ff. ZKG). In German.
Withdrawal from an online purchase or distance contract (Germany)
Why it matches: A salesperson talked you into signing a contract at your front door and you want to cancel it.
Germany · in German · for consumers
A letter withdrawing from a purchase made online, by phone or by catalogue, or from a contract signed at your door, in Germany. Under §§ 312g and 355 of the German Civil Code (BGB) a consumer may withdraw within 14 days without giving reasons. The letter carries everything the statutory model withdrawal form asks for — order date, date the goods arrived, order number, the goods, your name and address — in its own words, and asks for the refund within 14 days and a confirmation of receipt. In German, ready to send by e-mail or post.
Notice ending a mobile phone or internet contract (Germany)
Why it matches: Your provider has changed the contract terms or prices and you want to cancel because of it.
Germany · in German · for consumers
A notice ending a mobile, DSL, cable or fibre contract in Germany under the Telecommunications Act (TKG): ordinary notice at the earliest date, one month's notice once the minimum term has ended (§ 56 TKG), notice because you are moving (§ 60 TKG), because the internet is too slow and a deadline to fix it has passed, with the regulator's measurement record (§ 57(4) TKG), or after a one-sided change to the contract. With customer and contract numbers, phone number and a request to confirm the end date. In German.
Revoking a standing order or direct debit (Greece)
Why it matches: You want to cancel a standing order that sends money from your account every month.
Greece · in Greek · for consumers
The letter by which an account holder in Greece stops a standing order or a direct debit: the account, the payee, the mandate reference and the date the revocation takes effect. Under Law 4537/2018 a payment made after consent is withdrawn is unauthorised, and the bank refunds it. The letter works even if it arrives too late for the next debit: it then counts for all later ones. The contract with the supplier is not ended by it.
Withdrawal form for an online or distance purchase (Romania)
Why it matches: A salesperson sold you something at your door or on an organised trip and you want to cancel the purchase.
Romania · in Romanian · for consumers
The notice by which a consumer in Romania withdraws from an online, phone or off-premises purchase within 14 days — 30 if the contract was made during an unsolicited visit to the home or on an excursion organised by the trader — without giving a reason (Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014). It identifies the product and the order, asks for every payment — standard delivery included — to be refunded within 14 days to the account given, and announces the return of the goods. It follows the content of the model in the ordinance's annex.
Request to close a current account (Italy)
Why it matches: You need a letter ending your current account and asking for the cards and services to be closed.
Italy · in Italian · for consumers
If you open an account with another bank in Italy, the new bank offers a free switching service that moves transfers and direct debits and closes the old account if you ask. This letter, in Italian under Italian law, is for closing the account only: it gives notice of withdrawal without penalty or charges (article 120-bis of the Italian Consolidated Banking Act), asks for linked cards and services to be closed, the balance transferred and a closing statement sent. Send it by registered post, by PEC or hand it in at the branch.
Referral to the departmental tax conciliator (France)
Why it matches: The tax office would not cancel penalties or reduce what you owe, despite your request.
France · in French
For a taxpayer whose complaint, request for remission or request for time to pay was rejected in whole or in part by the tax office, and who asks for a fresh look. The referral is free and can be made by simple e-mail; the conciliator's contact details are usually given on the refusal and on impots.gouv.fr. This French letter recalls the request, the decision disputed and your reasons. The referral stops neither payment nor the deadlines for going to court.
Minutes closing a voluntary liquidation (France)
Why it matches: You want the minutes closing the liquidation so the company can be removed from the register.
France · in French
For closing the voluntary winding-up of a French SAS, SASU, SARL or EURL once the assets are realised and the debts paid: approval of the final liquidation accounts, discharge of the liquidator and of their mandate, sharing of the balance among the members, custody of the records, finding that the liquidation is closed. The decision is taken by the sole member, the meeting or a deed signed by all. The liquidator then files the accounts and applies for deregistration online on the one-stop business formalities portal, after the legal notice. In French.
Notice ending a subscription or gym membership (Poland)
Why it matches: You want to cancel your gym membership in Poland and stop the monthly payments.
Poland · in Polish · for consumers
Notice ending a contract for an ongoing service in Poland — a gym or pool membership, a course, a subscription, a service plan: the contract and customer numbers, the service, how it ends to underline — with the contract's notice period, immediately for important reasons, or without notice for an open-ended contract that sets none — withdrawal of consent to recurring payments, and a demand to refund fees taken in advance. It relies on rules the terms and conditions cannot exclude.
