The PDF you download is in Greek — that is the language it has to be filed in, so it is not translated. Everything on this page is here to tell you what it says.

The request in which a parent in Greece asks for parental leave under art. 28 of Law 4808/2021: the child, the dates and statements on the conditions. Each parent is entitled to four months until the child turns eight, after a year with the same employer, and DYPA, the public employment service, pays the first two months at the level of the minimum wage. It goes in at least a month ahead, asks for any refusal or postponement to be reasoned in writing, and asks the employer to file form E.14 in ERGANI II.

Common questions

Who is entitled to parental leave in Greece, and for how long?
Every parent who has worked at least one year for the same employer is entitled to four months of parental leave, until the child turns eight (art. 28 of Law 4808/2021). The right is individual: each of the two parents has it separately.
Is parental leave paid in Greece?
DYPA pays an allowance equal to the minimum wage for the first two months; for the rest of the leave the employer pays no wages. The parent claims the allowance from DYPA once the employer has declared the leave in ERGANI II on form E.14 — which is why the request asks for that declaration expressly.
How far ahead must a parental leave request be made in Greece, and can the employer refuse it?
At least one month before the leave starts. If the employer refuses or postpones the leave, it must give its reasons in writing. The request asks for that expressly, so that there is a written answer if a dispute arises, for example before the Labour Inspectorate.
