The PDF you download is in Greek — that is the language it has to be filed in, so it is not translated. Everything on this page is here to tell you what it says.

The request in which an employee in Greece asks for paid annual leave (Greek Labour Law Code, Presidential Decree 62/2025): the dates, the working days, the year, whether all of the leave or a part of it is asked for, and who covers the work, with room for the employer's answer. From 1 January 2026 leave may be split into more than two parts only at the employee's written request, and this request serves as one; the employer records the leave in ERGANI II afterwards, within the following month.

Common questions

Can annual leave in Greece be split into more than two parts?
Yes, from 1 January 2026, but only if the employee asks for it in writing. One of the parts must cover at least one continuous working week: five or six working days, depending on whether the working week has five or six days. That is why the request states whether all of the year's leave or part of it is asked for, and says that, if the leave is given in more than two parts, it is itself the employee's written request for the split.
When is annual leave recorded in the Greek ERGANI II system?
After it has been granted. From 1 January 2026 the employer records the leave in ERGANI II after the event, within the following month, and the earlier duty to declare it in advance has been abolished. The request with the employer's answer remains as proof of what was asked for and what was approved. Where the leave is split, the request and the employer's decision are kept at the business for five years, available to the Labour Inspectorate.
How many days of annual leave does an employee in Greece get?
The Greek Labour Law Code (Presidential Decree 62/2025), which took over Law 539/1945, sets them: in the first year leave is worked out in proportion to time worked, and after that it grows with years of service and depends on whether the working week has five or six days. Leave is given as time off and cannot be replaced by money unless the contract ends.
