The right to return an online purchase within fourteen days without giving a reason. The period runs from when the goods were received, not from the order, and it is met if you send the notice within it — even if the goods start their journey back later. The form identifies the order and the account the refund goes to.

Common questions

Do I have to explain why I am withdrawing?
No. On a distance purchase withdrawal needs no reason and the trader has no right to require one as a condition. The form has a field for a reason, but it is optional and can be left empty.
Who pays to send the goods back?
Usually the buyer, unless the trader has taken on the cost or failed to tell you about it before the purchase. Check the terms and conditions — this is the point most often argued over.
Does it apply to everything I buy online?
No. There are exceptions — goods made to order, unsealed hygiene products, perishables, and digital content whose delivery has begun with your consent. If the item falls within an exception, withdrawal does not apply.
When do they have to refund me?
Once they have the goods back or proof that you have sent them. The refund includes the original delivery charge at its standard rate, which traders often leave out.
