For consumers in Liechtenstein who bought online, by phone or away from the trader's premises and have changed their mind: a notice in German withdrawing from the contract within 14 days, with no reason given (Art. 12 of the Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act, FAGG), and asking for a refund within 14 days (Art. 15 FAGG). The statutory model withdrawal form and the trader's own online form do the same job free. Send it by registered post and keep the receipt.

Common questions
- How long do I have to withdraw from an online purchase in Liechtenstein, with a notice in German?
- 14 days: for goods from the day you, or someone you name, receive them (the last item of a split delivery), for a service from the day the contract was made (Art. 12 FAGG). If the trader did not tell you about the right, the period runs twelve months longer (Art. 13 FAGG). Sending the notice before the period ends is enough (Art. 14 FAGG).
- Which purchases in Liechtenstein can a withdrawal in German not cover?
- Among others: goods made to your specifications, goods that spoil quickly, hygiene goods, recordings or software unsealed after delivery, newspapers and magazines, services for a set date such as accommodation, car hire or leisure, and services fully performed with your agreement (Art. 19 FAGG).
- Who pays to send the goods back after a withdrawal in German in Liechtenstein?
- You pay the direct cost of returning them, unless the trader agreed to pay it or did not tell you that you would (Art. 16 FAGG). The trader refunds every payment, standard delivery included, within 14 days, and may wait until it has the goods back or proof that you sent them (Art. 15 FAGG).
- What can I do in Liechtenstein if the trader does not refund me after a withdrawal in German?
- If you paid by card, ask your card provider about a chargeback. For a trader established in Liechtenstein, the Office of Economic Affairs (Amt für Volkswirtschaft) settles consumer disputes that no other conciliation body handles, free of charge (Art. 1 Abs. 1, Art. 4 Abs. 3 and Art. 12 AStG). You can also go to the competent court; the Liechtenstein court works in German.

Many issuers have a free online dispute form; ask the trader first.
