An English notice ending a running contract with a provider in Liechtenstein — a gym, magazine, streaming service, membership or other subscription — to the next possible date, asking for written confirmation and no further debits. A consumer's contract for recurring deliveries follows Art. 20 of the Consumer Protection Act (KSchG); otherwise the contract decides, and a stricter form than a signed letter cannot be required. Print, sign and send by registered post.

Common questions

What notice period applies when a consumer cancels a contract in Liechtenstein?
Usually the one in the contract. For a consumer's contract for repeated deliveries of goods, energy included, or repeated work, made for an indefinite time or more than a year, the law allows two months' notice to the end of the first year and then to the end of each half-year (Art. 20 Abs. 1 KSchG); late notice takes effect on the next such date (Abs. 4). The letter ends the contract on the next possible date and lets you add the date you have worked out.
Is a signed registered letter enough to cancel with a Liechtenstein provider?
Yes for a consumer: a term requiring a stricter form than writing, or special ways of delivery, does not bind a consumer (Art. 8 Abs. 1 Bst. d KSchG), and a signed letter is written form (§ 886 ABGB). Keep the registered-post receipt, which proves sending; its tracking shows delivery. If the contract allows cancelling by e-mail or online, you may use that instead.
Can I withdraw instead of cancelling a contract made online with a Liechtenstein business?
Within 14 days, yes: a consumer can withdraw from a distance or off-premises contract without reasons, counted for services from the day the contract was made (Art. 12 FAGG). No form is needed, the model form in Annex Part B of the FAGG is free, sending it in time is enough, and payments are refunded within 14 days (Art. 14 and 15 FAGG). This letter is a cancellation for the future, not a withdrawal.
Can I write the cancellation in English, and who helps if it is ignored in Liechtenstein?
A provider that deals with you in English will understand an English notice; if in doubt, send the German version, sold separately. If the provider ignores it, a consumer can turn to the conciliation body for communications or for electricity and gas, or to the Office of Economic Affairs (Amt für Volkswirtschaft) for anything else, free unless otherwise provided (Art. 4 and 12 AStG). These bodies work in German.
