Unpaid leave agreement (Greece)
The agreement by which a Greek employer and employee set up unpaid leave: the period, the return date, the suspension of work and pay while the employment contract continues, and the return to the same job. In Greece such leave is granted only by an individual written agreement, for up to a year (art. 62 of Law 4808/2021) — the employer is not obliged to grant it — and the agreement must be filed in ERGANI II before the leave starts. That is why it is a document for both to sign, not a mere request.
Rent adjustment agreement for a residential lease (Greece)
The agreement by which a landlord and tenant in Greece change the rent under an existing residential lease. Greek rent cannot be raised unilaterally: it moves only as the lease's adjustment clause provides or by a new agreement. This one sets the new rent and the date it applies from, confirms that the other terms stand, and obliges the landlord to file an amending declaration with the tax authority (ΑΑΔΕ) by the end of the following month.
Out-of-court settlement agreement (Greece)
A Greek private agreement in which two parties end or prevent a dispute through mutual concessions (art. 871 of the Greek Civil Code): what the dispute is about, what each accepts, who pays whom, how much and by when, and which claims are extinguished. No notary is needed unless it creates or transfers a right in land. With a certain sum, a fixed payment date and both signatures, it is the document a payment order is sought on if the settlement is not honoured.
Agreement ending an employment contract by mutual consent (Greece)
The agreement by which a Greek employer and employee end the employment contract together on a date they choose: the last working day, the final settlement of pay, leave and bonuses, a lump sum if one is agreed, the return of equipment and the certificate of employment. No statute governs it: no form, reason or compensation is required, only a clear shared will — and the written agreement is what proves it when the end is declared in ERGANI II.
Copyright assignment or licence agreement (Greece)
The agreement by which the author of a work — a design, text, photograph or software — assigns their economic right or grants a licence to use it, exclusive or not: which rights, in which ways, where, for how long, whether sublicences are allowed, the pay, how the author is credited and the warranties. Under art. 14 of Greek Law 2121/1993, an assignment or licence is void unless made in writing, and only the author may plead the nullity.
Freelance services contract with a self-employed professional (Greece)
A business's contract with a freelancer in Greece: the services, independence in time, place and means, the fee, invoicing, confidentiality, copyright and termination. The independence terms matter: under Greek Law 2639/1998 the contract is presumed to hide employment if the freelancer works personally, exclusively or mainly for the same client for nine consecutive months. It records whether the freelancer has only one or two clients, in which case they are insured like an employee (Law 4387/2016, art. 39(9)), and whether the 20% tax withheld on invoices above €300 applies (art. 64 of Law 4172/2013).
Fixed-term employment contract (Greece)
A Greek employment contract with an end date, carrying the same essential terms as the open-ended one and what sets it apart: the term, the objective reason for the fixed term and the end without notice. The reason matters: successive fixed-term contracts without an objective reason that run past three years in total are presumed to meet permanent needs and become open-ended (Presidential Decree 81/2003). The ERGANI II steps for hiring are included.
Loan agreement between private individuals (Greece)
A Greek private agreement for a loan of money between private persons — relatives, friends, acquaintances: the parties with their AFM tax numbers, the sum in figures and words, how it is paid out, a fixed repayment day or instalments, interest and default interest. The rate is set against the ceiling for loans outside banks (7.90% a year from 16 September 2026), and the 3.6% digital transaction duty is placed on the borrower, payable to the Greek tax authority (AADE) by the end of the following month. Signed by both, it is the document a payment order runs on.
Contract for work or services between businesses (Greece)
A contract between businesses in Greece for a piece of work or for services: what is and is not included, timing, the fee with e-invoicing, acceptance and objections, liability and its cap, copyright, termination. It states at the outset whether the contractor owes a result (a contract for work under art. 681 of the Greek Civil Code) or only careful performance of services — the choice that decides liability for defects. Late payment carries the interest and the €40 of Greek Law 4152/2013.
Open-ended employment contract (Greece)
A Greek employment contract with no end date, written for the Labour Law Code (Presidential Decree 62/2025) and the 2025–26 changes: job and duties, place of work, hours, gross pay in figures and words, the holiday bonuses and leave allowance, probation of up to six months and how the contract ends. It gives the essential terms in writing, as the law requires within one week, and sets out the ERGANI II steps: the contract itself is no longer filed, but since 16 February 2026 the employee must accept the hiring notice before starting.
Confidentiality and non-compete agreement (Greece)
The agreement in which an employee in Greece undertakes to keep the employer's information confidential, during employment and after, and not to compete with the employer for a set period after leaving. Greece has no statute on non-compete clauses, and the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos 1183/2025) held that a clause without reasonable compensation and without a defined geographical area is, as a rule, void. So this agreement sets the activities, the area, the length and a monthly compensation.
Telework agreement (Greece)
The agreement by which a Greek employer and employee set up telework, at hiring or as an amendment to the contract (art. 67 of Law 4808/2021): the pattern and place of telework, working hours and time recording, equipment and costs, the right to disconnect and the ban on camera monitoring. The law puts the cost of equipment, telecoms and repairs on the employer, unless use of the employee's own equipment is agreed, and wants the terms in writing within eight days.
Private car sale agreement (Greece)
A Greek private agreement for selling a used car between individuals, written for the rule that applies now: the agreement does not transfer the car. Ownership passes with the digital transfer on gov.gr, the only route between private persons since 27 April 2026. So it binds the seller to start the transfer and the buyer to accept it by a set date and within 30 days of handover, before the seller's insurance lapses, and puts fines on the buyer from handover. It gives the price in words, the known defects and the two-year limitation period of art. 554 of the Greek Civil Code, and can be signed online on docs.gov.gr.
Mutual non-disclosure agreement between businesses (Greece)
The agreement by which two businesses, before working together, undertake to keep confidential the information they exchange: the purpose, what is and is not confidential, use only for that purpose, who may see it, how long the duty lasts, return or destruction, and a penalty clause. Greek Law 4605/2019, which transposes the EU Trade Secrets Directive, protects as a trade secret only information whose holder took reasonable steps to keep it secret — and this agreement is one of those steps.
