Delivery reminder and termination for goods not delivered (Italy)

For a consumer in Italy who paid for an online order, or for goods to be delivered home, and has not received them by the promised date or, failing one, within 30 days: you invite the seller to deliver by a new, appropriate deadline and announce that otherwise you will terminate the contract and ask for everything paid back (Article 61 of the Italian Consumer Code). Request for a certificate of school enrolment and attendance (Italy)

An Italian request, in Italian, from a parent or an adult student to the school office for a certificate of enrolment or attendance for private use: an employer, a bank, a sports body, a foreign authority. Many schools issue certificates through the electronic register; with public offices, and now with private parties too, a self-declaration is enough. It has the space for the 16 € revenue stamp (sold at tobacconists; @e.bollo online), which is not applied where the use is exempt. Hand it in at the school office or send it by PEC.

The verbale can also be downloaded free from INPS’s online services. No stamp duty is due to view the file or for plain copies; certified copies need a 16 € stamp unless an exemption applies. Cancelling a gym membership or another subscription (Italy)

For anyone in Italy who wants to end a subscription – gym, swimming pool, magazine, online service – or stop it renewing: the letter gives notice at expiry, withdraws on the contract’s terms or, if a documented illness or injury prevents you from using the service, asks for termination because performance has become impossible (Articles 1463 and 1464 of the Italian Civil Code). Italy has no specific law on gyms: the contract and the Italian Consumer Code’s rules on unfair terms decide. Many providers state in the contract how to cancel. Send this Italian letter by PEC to the company’s certified address or by registered post with proof of receipt.

Parent’s declaration for returning to school after illness (Italy)

An Italian declaration, in Italian, by a parent or guardian for the school that the pupil was absent for health reasons between the dates given and that the parent followed the paediatrician’s or family doctor’s advice. It is for regions or schools that ask for it instead of a medical certificate, which most Italian regions have abolished. Many schools have their own form or a function in the electronic register, free of charge. It holds health data, so it is sold blank and filled in by hand.

Owner’s declaration for a guest’s change of residence (Italy)

An Italian sworn self-declaration, in Italian (art. 47 of Presidential Decree 445/2000), by the owner, co-owner, usufructuary or tenant who lets someone register their residence at the home without a contract in that person’s name: it states the basis of occupation (hosting, a loan for use, living together) and the people. The registry office needs it for the title of occupation (art. 5 of decree-law 47/2014). Revocation of a SEPA direct debit, formerly RID (Italy)

Many banks let you revoke a direct debit free of charge in online banking or at the branch. This document, in Italian under Italian law, is for doing it in writing, with proof: it holds two letters to send on the same day, one to the creditor revoking the SEPA mandate and one to your bank asking it to stop executing that creditor's debits (legislative decree no. 11/2010). Revocation does not cancel sums owed: the letter asks how to pay them another way.

Written complaint to a bank (Italy)

A complaint to the bank costs nothing, and many banks have an online form or a PEC address for their complaints office. This letter, in Italian under Italian law, is for writing it yourself: it describes the problem – an undue charge, an unexpected cost, a service not provided – states what you ask for and, if needed, copies of documents (article 119(4) of the Italian Consolidated Banking Act). It is the step that opens a claim to the Arbitro Bancario Finanziario, filed online for a €20 fee. Send it by registered post or by PEC.
